Hi, my name is Megan Leatherman, and I write this blog. I also work as a career coach and human resources consultant, all in an effort to help people create worklives that they love.
I began coaching after experiencing life in some toxic work environments.
After completing a Master’s Degree in Conflict and Dispute Resolution, I went on to work in Human Resources. While I discovered a great passion for understanding organizational dynamics and how individuals fit into the workplace, I discovered something else: the normal 9 to 5 grind was a terrible fit for me.
After working for years in the professional world, I came to understand just how soul-crushing our work environments can be. I felt the pressure to work 12-14 hour days and was constantly exhausted. I ate lunch at my desk and crashed every afternoon at 3:00. I felt like I was just filling my chair some of the time, without purpose or a sense of meaning. I had no idea how to work in a way that was healthy and enriching.
I had to make a change.
Unfortunately for me, my first choice for change didn’t work out so well. You can read my blog post on the subject, but suffice to say I spent all my savings on a course in becoming a florist. Long story short, I don’t want to be a florist.
I want to help people love their worklives.
I combine my professional knowledge with my soulful, nature-loving, magic-believing wisdom to offer individuals and organizations a new way of working.
I believe that each of us already knows what we’re here on this earth to do, but that many of us have forgotten or have been convinced that we have no unique purpose. I believe that my work as a Career Coach is to draw out the wisdom that is already inside of you – the wisdom that shows you how to honor your gifts by creating a career that you love.
I also believe that our modern workplaces need a dose of ancient wisdom and that many of them are toxic environments for our souls. My work as an HR Consultant is focused on training organizations to embrace work life integration and use it as a tool to authentically support their employees.

When I’m not supporting clients or writing for my blog, I enjoy hiking in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, finding new brunch spots, and reading books of all kinds.
I live in Portland, Oregon with my husband Chris and our betta fish, Todd.
